The TeachersMOD project continues its capacity building activities related to innovative and students-centred teaching methodologies in the basic education field with a local training hosted by the University of Duhok in Kurdistan region of Iraq.
On February 12 and 13th 2024, more than 20 participants of Colleges of Basic Education of University of Duhok, University of Zakho, Salahaddin University, University of Halabja and University of Raparin took part in a two-days training held at the University of Duhok where Dr.Prof Antonio Morone, Dr. Emanuela Mangiarotti and Dr. Federica Ferrero from the Department of Political and Social Sciences of University of Pavia presented and shared some insights and knowledge on key issues such as History and Politics of the Past, Concepts and Categories of Contemporary History and Women studies and the teaching methodologies of Contemporary History in Higher education for the benefit of the Kurdish institutions.
On February 15th, the Kurdish colleagues completed the activities by participating in an online session, delivered by the team of the Basic education department of the University of Tras-Os Montes and Alto Douro. Dr. Felicidade Morais and Dr. Sandra Ricardo tackled the mainthe topic of The Value of Cooperative Learning in Education highlighting the importance of such approach to address the project objectives.
The training was a moment rich in input and reflection, as well as debate on relevant issues, thus becoming an important opportunity for cooperation between the project partner universities.
